Small dried figs marinated in spices & orange

150 gr of dried “figs” (small fluffy figs)
35 cl of water
50 gr of sugar
1 orange
4 cardamom pods
1-star anise (star anise)
½ vanilla pod
10 cl of cooked wine (or port or cognac or
rum…)
Remove the zest from the orange with a grater
or zester.
In a saucepan, pour the water, sugar, cooked
wine, orange zest, and spices. Bring to a boil. Let boil for 5 minutes.
Put the fire down.
Add the figs and continue cooking for 5
minutes.
Remove from fire. Let cool and store in the
refrigerator.
Wait 24 hours before tasting.
It keeps for about 1 week.
