Bisquick Coffee Cake


·         Cake:

2 cups Bisquick mix
2/3 cup milk or water
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 egg
1 tangy green apple, seeded, peeled, sliced

·         Garnish:

1/3 cup Bisquick mix
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter

·         Method

1.    Preheat the oven to 400 F.
2.    Grease an 8 "square pan or a 9" round pan. Mix the ingredients for the cake. Roll out the cake batter into the pan. Insert the apple slices into the dough evenly throughout the cake.
3.    Combine the ingredients for the Bisquick, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Spread the filling mixture on top of the dough in the pan. Add slices of butter on top.
4.    Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown, testing with a toothpick.
